A place to relax, have fun
Today's Volkspark with its idyllic ponds and extensive green spaces has been a popular destination since the 16th century. However, the lake Dutzendteich, which had been built around 1430 by damming small streams, no longer exists. Since it was located in the middle of the Reich Party Rally Grounds, it had been considerably reduced during the Nazi era, and the granite-paved Aufmarschstraße has since divided it into the Großer and Kleine Dutzendteich.
