The approximately 30 ha large forest plant is available to the public
On September 6, 1869 citizens of the then independent city Ronsdorf founded a beautification club, which had made it their goal to preserve forest areas in the north of Ronsdorf for the purpose of recreation for the population by creating new ways better for walkers to open and care for. Over the years, individual forest areas were purchased by the members until, in 1892, the association was recognized as an independent body and the individual plots could be transferred to it.
