Special attractions include the rhododendron and azalea collection as well as the presentation of the habitats: rock garden, alpinum, bamboo gardens. There are almost 200 endangered species of the "Red List North Rhine-Westphalia" in the Botanical Garden.
The peculiarities of this plant, which was created in 1912, have also been emphasized by the author Loki Schmidt in a federal guide for botanical gardens. Since the creation of the system, admission is free.
