Already the way into the city forest promises recovery. The city center is directly connected to the city forest via the Siebentischpark. Once in the Siebentischwald, Augsburg and Augsburg guests will find a network of cycling and hiking trails leading to the Kuhsee and the Lechauen. Three jogging trails - three, five and eight kilometers - are signposted. In winter, the city lights a running track and spurt - weather permitting - a cross-country ski trail. In the south, the Siebentischwald borders the Haunstetten district. Biking and hiking trails lead to the Ilsesee and the Lechstaustufe 23.
In addition, the city forest improves the urban climate, filters pollutants from the air, serves as a drinking water reservoir and protects against flooding. Its landscape - habitat for many animal and plant species - is a real peculiarity. The city forest is one of the last preserved, natural landscapes of the Lech. Almost its entire area is under nature conservation.
