Reichardt's garden is named after the composer Johann Friedrich Reichardt

Reichardt's garden is named after the composer Johann Friedrich Reichardt. Created in the late 18th century as a private garden, in the style of an English country garden and about 3 acres in size. Famous guests of the time (Goethe, Novalis, Eichendorff, Tieck, Jean Paul, Achim von Armin, Brentano, Schleiermacher (Professor of Theology), Steffens (Prof. of Mineralogy), Wackenroder, Reinhold and Georg Forster (Weltumsegler), Friedrich Schlegel, Prince Ferdinand of Prussia) the garden became known far beyond the borders of the city. As "hostel of the romantic" it is part of the German literary history.
