The IGA 2003, attended by 31 nations, attracted 2.6 million visitors from all over the world. The total costs of the IGA site amounted to 62 million euros, those of the exhibition center 32 million euros. The main financing was provided by the Hanseatic city of Rostock and the state and federal government. The great success of the IGA 2003 provided many positive impulses that have shaped the region to this day.
