A secluded spot under the lush trees
Fürstengarten, designed in 1778 by the Wilhelm I elector and owned by Kassel since about 1880, features luxurious trees, solitary shrubs and spring flowers. The work of natural stone on the handicrafts is carried out with great attention to detail. Directly in the park, three museums invite to visit.
Behind the Murhardschen Library is an obelisk to commemorate the founding of the German Empire in 1871, founded by Carl Pegas and Hans Eversing and opened in 1898. In the vicinity, the round, 7-meter round, stone-covered tour is highlighted. The building is a monument to commemorate the victims of fascism.
The city's inner promenade offers ample space and plenty of trees for a good recreational opportunity. Seating is available. Young visitors can play on the playground. Off the pitch, dogs are allowed to drive.
