And the NATURLAND operating certificate
Saarbrücker Stadtwald was certified in 2017 in accordance with the strict standards of the Naturland and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). The certificate is valid until 30 April 2018.
The Naturland Certificate was developed in 1996 by Greenpeace, the Union for the Environment and Conservation of Germany (BUND), the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and Robin Wood. Naturland does not permit clear surveys, pesticide use, or non-local planting.
Ten percent of the area that can be used as a timber industry has been reported as a reference area with waiver of use. Cave trees are protected, dead or dead trees, unusual trees and tree effects. Ten dead wood share is requested in wood stock. At present, 18 forest farms across Germany are planted with more than 53,000 hectares of forest in accordance with the Naturland guidelines.
