The time of Prince-Bishop Johann Philipp von Schönborn (1642-1673), for which the Schönborn coat of arms at the balustrade of the observation cockpit of the garden terrace also speaks.
His garden was restored in 1937 and still exists today. The garden was not commissioned until around 1700 under Johann Philipp von Greiffenclau, who at that time had the episcopal dwelling and the church on Marienberg refitted. The eight-part parterre with fountain was then adorned with four allegorical-mythological figures, perhaps symbolizing the four seasons. Two of the destroyed original sculptures were replaced by replicas.
