Today the castle park is characterized on the one hand by numerous old trees and on the other hand by the colorful, flowering beds, because it was created as a ornamental garden. With about 60,000 tulips in the spring, the annual flowerage begins in the castle park. The flowers are grown in the town's own nursery and exchanged three times a year. Between the flowers and trees contemporary sculptures are exhibited in the park: Peter Rubens, born in Siegen in 1577, recalls the Rubens fountain with a sculpture by the sculptor Hermann Kuhmichel. Under a tent roof in the southern part of the castle park, a varied cultural program with concerts and plays takes place in summer.
