It is one of the four poles of the Botanical Garden of the City of Paris. Renovated at the end of the nineteenth century under the leadership of Jean Camille Formigé, it is decorated with large greenhouses painted in turquoise blue, built by the French architect in 1898, a fountain of Jules Dalou and masks of Augustus Rodin.
In 1998, the garden and part of the buildings it contains are registered as historical monuments
