In the western zone of the neighborhood there was an unfinished land classified as a green area from the Urban Development Plan of 1946 and that remained so in the General Plan of Urban Planning of 1963.2 In 1970, being mayor Juan Fernández Rodríguez García del Busto, it began with the project of conditioning it.2 It was executed under the direction of Luis Recasens, José Lupiáñez and José Elías.3
It was opened to the public on April 14, 1973.4 It was officially inaugurated on April 23 of that year.5 The tape was cut by a girl named María Luisa González, along with the mayor of the city.
