The Jardin des Plantes is a place steeped in history. In the eighteenth century, it was the site of botany courses and rich in many collections. The twentieth century sees its misuse for the benefit of the production of plants for the flowering of Amiens. Since 2005, the botanical part has been rehabilitated with important efforts on both collections and buildings. Today, the plantations have grown and the garden has thus been able to claim recognition such as the Jardin Remarquable label, which was awarded in 2013
