The Regional Natural Park of Martinique (PNRM) was born in 1976 from the desire to combine the economic development of the island with the preservation of its natural and cultural wealth.
Since its inception, the PNRM has helped to raise awareness of the link between nature and culture within the Martinican identity.
Martinique, ranked among one of the 34 hot spots of global biodiversity, has set up a future project to manage in a sustainable manner its very strong demographic, urban and economic expansion in a limited surface area. The Natural Regional Park of Martinique (PNRM) is one of the major players in this project.
