The whole area was designed by Józef Chopin at the beginning of the 20th century. In the center of the park there is a large pond with a high-flow fountain (rebuilt from the basic period). In the northern part, representative stairs were set up, creating an urban environment for the perspective of the Grand Theater (early 20th century). In the southern part of the complex, which gently passes to Adam Mickiewicz Square, there is a monument: victims of June 1956. And Adam Mickiewicz. Earlier he stood in this area: Bismarck Monument (until 1919) and the Sacred Heart of Jesus (until 1939). Two parts of the park (southern and northern) communicate with each other by means of planes, which are also places to relax and read thanks to retired seats.
