The park is located in the center of the urban layout of the "garden city", which is Giszowiec. The name Giszowiecki park was given by the City Council of Katowice by resolution No. LXVI / 1332/10 of October 25, 2010 [2]; the resolution entered into force on December 13, 2010 [4]. The name of the park was unofficially known before. In 2005, an open-air event took place - a concert of a brass band from KWK Staszic and KWK Wieczorek, as part of the celebration of the 140th anniversary of granting city rights to Katowice
