The Parc du Moulin takes its name from the presence of the mill Chantecoq, the oldest mill in the Hauts-de-Seine. This mill, originally made of wood, was built in 1648 by Michel Langlois, Provincial Ordinary Controller of Wars under King Louis XIV. Rebuilt in the eighteenth century in rubble, it forms a cylindrical tower topped with a conical roof. Outbuildings, including the miller's house, have been added. Restored in the 1990s, it is now an integral part of the city's conservatory tower by giving the Park its unique character.
