The magnificent estate is made up of a chartreuse and a vast green space
In 1769, the rich banker Samuel Peixotto (1741-1805) built a castle surrounded by a garden designed by the architect François Lhote, student of the famous gardener Le Nôtre. The magnificent estate is made up of a chartreuse and a vast green space, today a public park extended by a botanical garden.
From its creation, the Peixotto castle and its park will be classified among the most remarkable French gardens. The building will be registered on the list of historical monuments as early as 1935.
