The park was created in 1935. It was the first public park in the city at that time. It extends to the "border" river Brynica. The border there runs not only between the cities of Sosnowiec and Katowice,
but above all between the historical regions of Silesia and the Dąbbrowski Basin.
Kresowy Park has recently been revitalized, small park sculptures and a fountain have appeared, with several points of water ejection. Flower discounts add charm to the park. The park's stand is very diverse. It has about 50 species.
