Piaskówka is one of the districts of Tarnów, which, due to its idyllic landscape, has been a popular place for walks, lovers' meetings, and later picnics, games and cycling trips since the end of the 19th century.
Until the mid-20th century, the northern border of the city leaned against the forest in Piaskówka. Despite the inclusion of these areas in the Tarnów region, a significant part of them retained their rural character, abundant in various green areas, such as fruit orchards, allotment gardens, a park and even a forest. The Sandlands are crossed by latitudinally flowing, small watercourses - the "From Shooting Range" ditch and the "Bagienko" ditch, which after joining create the Clickowski stream flowing into the Dunajec.
