The California Sequoia or Sequoia Giganteum: considered one of the largest trees on the planet, it is native to the eastern slopes of Sierra Nevada in California. A unique specimen in the world reaches 83 meters high and weighs 2,000 tons.
The Gingo Biloba or tree at 40 ECU: this conifer has a long pedigree that dates back 200 million years. After the ice age, it survived the wild only in southeastern China. In the first millennium BCE, Buddhist monks had designated it "sacred tree", perhaps because of its longevity.
