Iuliu Prodan Park was inaugurated five years ago. Shortly after the ribbon-cutting, the park was vandalized, but things were remedied. Now, the area looks impeccable and can be considered an example for other areas such as Mărăști or Mănăștur.
Some parks in the city look like they are cut from the Amazon jungle. For example, the trees and the lawn in the IRA Park are careless, and humans and animals need their alleys and grass. Colina Park in Mănăștur is another area that can hardly be called a park. There are too few banks, trash cans are rare, and piles of rubbish lie beneath the trees. As outbreaks of infection as they are, the two parks are still frequented by Cluj residents.
