The ground stone of the museum was the Transylvanian Scientific Association (Siebenburgischer Verein fur Naturwiessenschaften) formed in 1849. At first the museum had serious storing problems, but in 1895 a fund-raising started from which the new building of the museum was made
There are more than 1.000.000 exhibit objects, some from collectors but most of them are from the museum specialists. Here you can see J. Lerchenfeld herbalists 1811 piece collection, M.
