Sándor Petőfi Square is located in the Romanian city of Sighisoara, in the center of the Transylvania region.
It is a public space whose main figure is the monument to the most recognized Hungarian poet in history: Petőfi Sándor. Born in 1823, Sándor died in the Battle of Sighisoara fighting against the Russian Imperial Army after having written the revolutionary poet "Nemzeti Dal" ("National Song" in Hungarian language).
