A park in central Stockholm
The square was built as early as the 17th century and was probably first a park that was part of the large Daurian estate where Carl Michael Bellman was born in 1740 and grew up. It has also been assumed that it was Queen Christina who decided on its construction in the 1650s. But during the 18th century, Södermalm was planned and the square was named Hornstorget. At this time, the site was sometimes used as the execution site.
