The Garden is a non-profit budgetary scientific institution created to organize the creative work of a team of scientists and solve pressing problems to develop basic and applied research in the field of biological sciences.
The current area is 52.4 hectares. He is responsible for the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Botanical Garden is an object of the National Nature Reserve of Ukraine. Since 2004, according to the decree of the Cabinet, it has been recognized that the group of trees and shrubs (nursery) is a national property of Ukraine.
Establishment and history
In light of the threat of an environmental disaster looming in Krivpas, in December 1972, the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR issued a decision "on the organization of a reference point for the Donetsk Botanical Garden of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR in the industrial area of Kryvyi Rih" and adopted On April 15, 1975. Founder and creator of the Botanical Garden in Kryvorizhzhya was Professor Evgeny Kondratyuk, at that time the director of the Donetsk Botanical Garden.

In the light of the great achievements of the collective, the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR adopted Decree No. 144 of May 20, 1992 on the establishment of the Krivoy Rog branch of the Donetsk Botanical Garden, an independent scientific institution of the Academy of Sciences - Krivoy Rog Botanical Garden of the Academy of Sciences in Ukraine. The decision taken by this decision was approved by decree of the representative of the President of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region No. 518 of 30 December 1993. The area of the Botanical Garden has been reduced to the present size by the decision of the Dnepropetrovsk Regional Council № 525-22 / XXIII of March 19, 2002. The reason for the reduction of the area is: "Clarification of limits when issuing a law on the right to use land"
