One of the most visited and central parks in Sundsvall
Here are many seats and flower plantations around the fountain, designed by Sofia Gisberg and erected in 1886. The park was built in 1877 at the site of the eastern lake earlier and where the city began to expand during the 17th century. A.P. Hedberg and wholesaler Wikström donated the park to the city. The donation, called Vängåvan, is dated August 25, 1873. The old pond would be transformed into a beautiful park to walk in, no buildings of any kind would be erected there. After completion and drainage, the park was completed in 1877.
