Many people come to the Cape as it is called. Here you can roam the pine forest, play in the snow, have a cup of summer biking, jog in the track, swim and much more. In winter you can follow different arrangements and ride a slide on a snow dragon. You can also hike out on the ice rink which allows for walking as well as trips on long skates.
Unique playground
The most popular among the adults is clearly the beach and the exercise loop while the younger ones usually like the playground best. The playground is a nature theme park linked to winter's recurring leash "Dragon". Next to the playground there is also a copy of Vasco da Gama's ship and a large climbing net in the form of a pyramid.
Industrial area
The park has a history as an industrial area. It was in the 1830s that Christian Gültzau started Josefine shipyards that built sailboats. Then there was also a tar hut, a checkpoint for tar that was floated in barrels on the Lule River. Since the shipyard went bankrupt, there have been sawmills, smokehouses, restaurants and cold baths. Today, a copy of Luleå's old town hall stands in the park. This works in the summer as a cafe.
