Originally this was the garden that belonged to the Eekhout villa. This was purchased by the municipality in 1910. Since then it has been a public walking park (you). In 2002, a redesign plan was made by the municipality together with local residents, with the restoration of openness and sight lines.
There are various facilities in the park, such as an animal meadow, a fountain and works of art. The Indië monument is also located there. The park has been used since 2005 for various activities organized by the De Freule van Eekhout neighborhood foundation.
