The park was turned into a neighborhood park in 1981, as a result of extensions to the Westenholte district in the 1970s. The park is 3.9 hectares and with a nod to the past, a wooden 'play castle' has been placed. In addition to this play castle, there are various other facilities available, such as a skating rink and an animal meadow.
The castle was finally demolished in 1362. It was the property of the lords of Voorst. The entire site is an archaeological monument.
