The law park in central Kogh in the eighteenth century was called "Lovraven". The name is derived from the ancient word for water and the garden from a landscape pond, such as a fish pond.
The reason why the area is called Lufparken is because here were the remains of the old fortification with a trench from the Swedish occupation 1658-60, where the Swedes turned Kog into a real fortification with 11 fortresses.
If one stands in Sct. Gertrudsstræde overlooks Lovparken that only one of these strongholds is located here, and you can see this varies the elevation in the area, but is also seen from an ancient map of Cog since that time.
There were remaining ponds as memorials at the time, and many ponds, many of which were in Koge, were used as sewage ponds from the streams of surrounding currents. The pool in Lovpark was closed only in the last half of last century.
The current Lovpark consists of different regions, and the old Lovpark is located on both sides of the hospital road. It was originally owned by Gammelkjøgegaard, along with the straight ground, and there was cult, which was later purchased by doctor Thira Fischer Rasmussen. After her death, Ib Junggaard purchased the property for Køge municipality's nose.
