Van Dolder de Wit and Sprokholt mention the landscape architect Hendrik Copijn as designer of the park in Gouda vegetable habitats. In 1897 he made a plan for the park in the English landscape style. Characteristic for that style are the winding paths, ponds and bat bridges.
