The Military Vegetable Garden was already present in this region in the nineteenth century. In 1910 Tallinn became the owner in most of the region. After that, she used to be a police vegetable garden for decades, then Politseiaed (Police Garden). The park in its current form dates back to the years after World War II. The strict regular system of paths originates from the 1950s - the time of Stalinist gardening. The area was completely rebuilt between 2003 and 2005. There were 46 species of clay plants in the garden in the fall of 2007.
