The main objective of the implementation of this park was the hydraulic regularization of Rio da Costa, through the construction of the damping dam downstream of the park that allows the reduction of flows, protection against flood risks, as well as the landscape integration through the installation of riparian vegetation with functions of stabilizing margins and fixing avifauna, as a contribution to a greater biodiversity of the place.
The park includes several leisure areas, a covered picnic area, a maintenance circuit equipped with 7 pieces of equipment and respective explanatory signs for the exercises and a grassy platform that functions as an informal playground.
It also includes a playful lake resulting from the use of surface and subsurface waters of the place and which is crossed by an “adventure bridge” that can be used by the whole family.
