It took its present form in the 1980s
In 1975, a memorial to Soviet soldier Johannes Ruditz was built in the park, which was moved in 2007 and moved to the Estonian History Museum.
The park is home to the Jarva County Museum, Jarva County Hospital and Water Tower Residential in the immediate vicinity of the park.
