A protected natural value on the proposal of the staff of the Botanical Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Our botanical garden is the richest dendrological collection in the city. Its number of woody taxa exceeds a thousand and also occupies a significant place nationwide in the ranking of botanical garden living collections. The collection here is divided into deciduous and evergreen deciduous trees and shrubs, conifers and herbaceous perennials. The cold-tolerant bamboo collection of about 80 species, which can be said to be unique in Hungary, also represents a special value. The care and scientific processing of the garden is exemplary. His collection is regularly enriched through his domestic and foreign contacts. Botanical gardens are in fact living museums, high-value treasures of Hungary's breathing heritage, which play an indispensable role in the conservation of biodiversity and genetic resources. Perhaps even more important is the role of the botanical garden as a school, as our botanical garden is an integral part of the school living space, which draws a natural environment around the school, and has an educational effect even with its mere presence. It serves aesthetic education and has an emotional impact on both school students and teachers. It inspires artistic expression and helps relaxation with its stress relieving effect. In short, it is an educational arena that contributes greatly to the development of environment-adequate behavior and the socialization of students to environmental culture. By creating this special school environment, we can give our students an extra, the real return of which can really be measured in their quality of adult life, in their environmentally conscious deeds and actions. In addition to protecting and presenting the values of nature, our botanical garden also plays a significant role in educating students from other schools. Through its attendance, it also serves public culture and has an impact on the plantations of the surrounding gardened part of the city.
