The park has a long and varied history, with links to many important historical figures.
L.S. Lowry, a one time local rent collector regularly visited the park before gaining recognition for his works of art and Frances Hodgson Burnett, the author of the classic children's novel "The Secret Garden" was rumoured to have written the book during one of her many visits to the grade II listed Buile Hill Mansion.
Buile Hill Park is included on English Heritage's Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England. It is one of two Registered Parks and Gardens in the city, both of which are grade II.
Buile Hill Park Hall conference and banqueting facility is available for general hire for any occasion.
