Happy Valley is home to a wide variety of habitats and wildlife.
Happy Valley consists of a variety of habitats including woodland, marshy grassland, ponds and streams. It's also a Site of Biological Importance in recognition of these habitats.
Parts of the woodland found within the site are considered as ancient woodland. They contain species which reflect this, such as bluebells which provide a wonderful blanket of colour in the spring.
The stream, Lady Brook, flows through the site and provides an interesting contrast to the surrounding environment. This range of habitats provides a good opportunity for the public to enjoy wildlife, within a largely urban environment.
