The river Mersey forms the backbone of the Park. The coast to coast Transpennine Trail runs through the centre of the park.
Thousands of tonnes of soil were used to create the park’s open space. Wildflowers were sown and new trees planted. Over time these spaces will create nature rich habitats. These can be enjoyed by people and wildlife for many years to come.
