Wilton Park is the main park that serves the bustling town of Batley in North Kirklees. There are two main areas of the park divided into a steeply wooded area. At the top of the slope is the Bagu Chu Museum, built in 1875-76.
The new park has seen the construction of bowling courts and tennis courts, as well as a rowing pool and a lot of new planting around the site. There was once a railway line through the site, parallel to the main road. This has been closed for several years, but its path is clear, as is the bridge that lies directly in front of the main entrance.
