Local Nature Reserve awarded
Bromwich Wood lies immediately northeast of Bartley Reservoir, adjacent to Scotland Lane.
The wood contains a large and diverse plant community. The wood is mainly made up of English oak trees, but there are also sweet chestnut, sessile oak, wild cherry, alder and rowan. During the spring a large numbers of bluebells flower.
Birds seen in the wood include the jay, blue tit, nightingale, nut hatch, treecreeper, magpie, mistle thrush, song thrush, blackbird and robin.
