The reservoir is surrounded by woodland and grassland. Walkers and joggers can enjoy the approximately 2.8 km (1.75 miles) path around the reservoir.
The area supports a variety of birdlife. And is also a valuable city site for animals such as newts and bats.
Edgbaston Reservoir was built by Thomas Telford as a top up for Birmingham canal system. It is still used for that purpose today.
