Highbury Park includes the estate of Joseph Chamberlain, former Lord Mayor of the Birmingham. He left the park to the people of the city on his death in 1914.
When the Chamberlin family left the house it became an auxiliary military hospital. Most of the grounds became a public park in 1930.
