Grugapark is a garden in Essen, which has emerged from the Great Ruhr Landscaping Exhibition since 1929 and reopened as the first garden fair in Germany to be a good folk park. The annex is located south of the city center between the areas of Rüttenscheid, Holsterhausen and Margarethenhöhe. Stretching over approximately 65 hectares above the hillside pavements of the Borbecker Mühlenbach valley. The Gruga complex also features Grugahalle, Messe Essen and Grugabad.
In 1938, Grugabark was a place for Reichgarnshaw. In the bombing of aircraft in World War II, was destroyed. After the reconstruction and subsequent expansion, the second Gruga exhibition was organized here in 1952 and the Federal Garden exhibition in 1965.
Today, the park is used for recreational purposes, as a play and sports venue and as a venue for parties and festivals.
There are more than forty statues in the garden, such as Alfred Hardlika, Auguste Rodin and Fritz Clemsh.
