Schloss Eller and the park have a long history of development, which dates back to the 13th century. From the medieval moated castle developed until the beginning of the 19th century, a castle-like property with a landscaped, small landscaped park, which was initially limited to the island areas in the immediate vicinity of buildings.
The island park, whose southern boundary was previously the Eselsbach, was extended at the end of the 19th century by afforestation to the south. At the beginning of the 20th century, the plantations created a forest park with sweeping park paths and extensive meadows and a new pond complex. He increasingly became a self-evident unit with the former island park.
