In 1902 the facility was taken over by the city of Dusseldorf. The formerly rich floral decoration was kept much simpler and also the palm house had to be abandoned unfortunately. The glorious splendor of the Wilhelminian era today reminds only a little. The palm house was demolished shortly after the purchase of the park by the city. A little later also disappeared the music temple, formerly a place for public concerts. In 1912, the gardening was closed.
In the densely built district of Bilk, the park is today literally a green oasis. With its romantic-looking pond and its old trees a rather quiet place that invites you to relax. Species-rich woody plantings still offer visitors beautiful seasonal aspects. A tree nature trail through the park explains 31 different trees.
