A recreation area in memory of the former manor Schönau
The west entrance of Schönauer Park in Leipzig-Grünau was redesigned in 2002. Since then, a pergola surrounds a central shrub garden. This pergola serves as a recreation area in memory of the former manor Schönau. In addition, the trees were complemented by interesting trees and created a festival for park festivals and other events.
Also in 2002, the Schönauer Park was extended between the old and the planned Schönauer Straße by an open space design. Based on the trees of the Schönauer Park, this "green wedge" was planted with black pines. In a trial plantation in the former road shrubs for extreme locations were selected with minimal care.
